Megan Stefanski, a passionate Detroit Lions fan from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, was named the 2024 NFL Fan of the Year, a recognition she earned due to her unwavering dedication to the team. The announcement took place during the 2025 NFL Honors ceremony on FOX, where Stefanski, still in New Orleans, expressed her excitement. During a conversation, she was joined by former Fan of the Year, Ron “Crackman,” and a group of Lions fans, including the International Fan of the Year.
Megan’s connection to the Lions is deeply personal. She is the daughter of Donnie “Yooper Man” Stefanski, a well-known Lions super fan who passed away in 2019. Donnie made it a point to attend every home game, driving from his home in the Upper Peninsula. Megan now continues that tradition, traveling to both home and away games. For a 1 p.m. home game, she often leaves her home at 2:30 a.m., driving five hours to the stadium, only to return afterward for another five-hour drive. She has also brought together Lions supporters across the state, raising over $30,000 for charity in the past year.
Megan expressed her gratitude, saying it’s a surreal honor to represent not only Detroit but also the entire state of Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. Her dedication to the Lions and her father’s memory made her the perfect candidate for this prestigious recognition. Former fan Ron Crachiola echoed this sentiment, saying he was thrilled for her and knew her father would be proud.
