Florida State men’s basketball has landed a fourth transfer portal commitment of the offseason, beating Kentucky for the commitment of Colorado forward Sebastian Rancik.
Rancik, a native of Slovakia, is a 4-star transfer prospect. He visited the Seminoles for a two-day visit earlier this week, before taking a visit to Kentucky. The sophomore forward committed to FSU on Sunday, April 19, and is the fifth commitment of the week for the program.
He averaged 12.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists for Colorado last season, making 26 starts for the Buffaloes. The 6-foot-11 Rancik will pair with incoming 4-star freshman Marcis Ponder in the Seminoles front court next season.
Rancik joins Missouri guard Anthony Robinson II, UNC-Asheville guard Kameron Taylor and Cincinnati wing Shon Abaev in transferring to the program in the offseason. FSU will also bring in the nation’s eighth-ranked recruiting class, led by Ponder.
Tallahassee State guard Amare Robinson also committed to the program to play with his brother, Anthony.
The Seminoles will look to add more front-court depth in the portal following the commitment from Rancik.
