Pat Riley and the Miami Heat have been linked for decades, starting in 1995, when he initially joined the group as team president and head coach. The majority of supporters think that Riley is the mind behind every roster change in his present position as a team executive. But according to current rumors, as reported by NBA insider Jake L. Fischer, Heat owner Micky Arison’s son has taken over for him.

One of Fischer’s most recent columns posits that Nick Arison has surpassed Pat Riley in terms of decision-making and that the renowned NBA star now needs the approval of both the Heat’s owner and the CEO before taking any action.

Riley still maintains a very strong voice and presence here, but he now needs the consent of two Arisons—Nick and his father Micky—at decision time, and he doesn’t get it as frequently as he used to since Heat CEO Nick Arison has undoubtedly assumed a much more important daily role in recent years.

Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald also corroborated the rumors surrounding the Heat’s decision-making process. Just before Riley gives his yearly press conference to the media at the conclusion of the season, the news has been released.

The future of the franchise following a dismal season, during which the Heat failed to make the playoffs after losing in the play-in to the Charlotte Hornets, is one of the topics that is likely to be discussed at the press conference. Additionally, the club is entering an offseason during which the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade speculation is likely to intensify.
