Packers running back Josh Jacobs was detained in Wisconsin on Tuesday and placed at the Brown County Jail on five accusations.
Jacobs is facing allegations of battery/domestic abuse, criminal damage to property/domestic abuse, disorderly conduct/domestic abuse, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim, according to a statement from the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department.
According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, the police department issued a statement saying, “On May 23, 2026, around 8:37 a. m. , the Hobert-Lawrence Police Department was sent to a disturbance complaint involving Josh Jacobs. “
The Hobart-Lawrence Police Department announced that they looked into the allegation and arrested Jacobs on Tuesday. Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
Josh adamantly rejects the claims, and the case is still in its early stages of investigation, with significant evidence yet to be made public. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Jacobs’ attorneys said in a statement, “We beg for equity and restraint as the judicial process progresses. “
A Packers spokeswoman told The Athletic, “We’re aware of the situation with Josh Jacobs. As it is an ongoing legal matter, we will refrain from making any additional statements.
Jacobs, 28, joined the Packers before the 2024 season. He has played 32 games for the organization, gaining 2,258 yards and scoring 30 total touchdowns. Jacobs was selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft by the Raiders from Alabama.
