After an amazing run to promotion, a man from the United States who unintentionally became an Ipswich Town supporter after a T-shirt order went wrong stated that he intended to follow their Premier League journey.
Zach Peterson, 40, of Lincoln, Nebraska, bought a coworker a Chicago Bears American football-themed T-shirt right before Christmas.

However, instead of receiving the anticipated item in the mail, he was surprised and disappointed to get an Ipswich Town jersey.
He nevertheless became captivated by the team’s pursuit of the top flight after conducting some internet research about them, and he currently intends to support the club from over 4,000 miles (6,400 km) away.
Peterson described the mix-up as follows: “As a Christmas gift, I chose to purchase a T-shirt representing Coleston Loveland, my co-worker Tauna’s favorite player, since she is a huge Chicago Bears fan. “
The package arrived just in time for me to give it as a Christmas present, but when I opened it, I discovered the Ipswich Town FC T-shirt.
To be honest, I was first irritated because I knew that the replacement would not arrive before Christmas.
However, I simply shrugged my shoulders and concluded, “It is what it is,” since the seller let me keep the Ipswich Town FC [top].
Peterson knew a little bit about English football, but only about the major clubs, so he began to research Ipswich Town.
He referred to the team’s recent promotion as an amazing accomplishment.

In the United States, he said, there are currently no sports leagues with a promotion-relegation mechanism, but the United Soccer League is getting ready to switch to this system.
Honestly, at first I didn’t think it [promotion] was such a big deal, but then I saw the supporters rushing the field at Portman Road after the season’s last game, and I also watched highlights from the club’s parade.
Everyone seemed to understand how important it was. It’s hard for me to picture what the mood was like.
Peterson said that learning about Ipswich felt a little bit like gazing into a mirror with his neighborhood American football club, the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Coming from a large agricultural state like Nebraska, the moniker “Tractor Boys” made immediate sense to me.
It’s a hardworking, blue-collar identity that doesn’t attempt to be anything it isn’t.
I could see from the parade highlights and pitch celebrations just how much that club means to the folks there.
That degree of devotion and fervor is something I can absolutely relate to.
Additionally, he recently wore his Town shirt to a family birthday celebration, giving him the chance to discuss the team with a larger audience and fielding a lot of inquiries.
When asked if he would be traveling overseas to see a game next season, Peterson responded that he was unsure but would not pass up the chance if it presented itself.
