Well, it appears like the Cincinnati Bearcats might be suffering from some sour grapes. Weeks after losing Brendan Sorsby, their former starting quarterback, to the transfer market and Sorsby landed up in Lubbock to play for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, the Bearcats appear to have opted to sue.
The Bearcats appear to think that Sorsby owes them some money since he chose to join another team. I don’t know all the details, but Mark Schlabach’s assessment on the entire deal for ESPN states that Sorsby is said to have signed an agreement with the Bearcats that would expire in December 2026.
And that wasn’t when Sorsby really departed Cincinnati. He is currently competing for a club other than the Bearcats. And while he is being sued for $1 million (which is a sizable sum), Sorsby is set to make a lot of money with Texas Tech through NIL agreements.
As a result, it appears that Texas Tech supporters are unconcerned about what Cincinnati intends to do here. It appears like some Texas Tech supporters would be delighted if the Red Raiders just issued a check to help pay the transaction.
College football supporters comment as the Cincinnati Bearcats have opted to sue Texas Tech Red Raiders quarterback Brendan Sorsby.
Here’s what certain Texas Tech supporters are saying as Sorsby and Cincinnati disagree on the entire leaving thing.
And yeah, it really feels like folks in Lubbock aren’t all that worried about this one. Truly, It sounds like they’re just not bothered by the fact that their new starting quarterback might have to pay up after leaving his old team.
But if you consider the amount of money that Sorsby will be making in Lubbock, this doesn’t seem like it will be the end of the world for him.
It’ll be interesting to see how this one unfolds. Right now, it sure looks like Texas Tech will be just fine at the end of the day.
