The Duke Blue Devils’ roster construction is still going on. Jacob Theodosiou, a Loyola Maryland transfer guard, has declared his allegiance to Duke after visiting Durham. He is the third member of Jon Scheyer’s transfer portal class.
Theodosiou started his collegiate career at Wyoming in 2023–24, but he only played in 10 games before switching to Loyola Maryland. Theodosiou actually discovered his place during his two years with the Greyhounds.
Theodosiou averaged 13. 1 points per game on 41. 4% shooting over his two seasons at Loyola Maryland. In addition to averaging 3. 8 rebounds and 2. 7 assists per game, he also made 31. 4% of his shots from outside the arc during his time with the Greyhounds. With the addition of the 6-foot-4 guard, Duke’s backcourt, which will be considered the best in the nation, will have more depth, and this will only improve its already formidable strength.
On April 7, Theodosiou is said to have made the decision to submit his name to the transfer portal. Since he has not made any social media postings regarding school offers or campus visits, his transfer recruitment has remained mostly unnoticed. But he is currently committed to the Blue Devils.
Theodosiou becomes a member of a tiny but powerful group of transfer portal recruits.
Because of the numerous returning players, Duke hasn’t had to enter the transfer portal as often as other schools have. In April, Patrick Ngongba, Cayden Boozer, Caleb Foster, and others said they would be back at Duke for the upcoming campaign. However, Scheyer has not been absent from portal work.
Drew Scharnowski of Belmont was the first addition to the Blue Devils’ transfer site class. Soon after that, Duke brought in John Blackwell, one of the most well-known players in the transfer portal and a Wisconsin guard. Joining five incoming freshmen, Theodosiou transforms it into a transfer portal class of three. Scheyer’s class is still another one filled with famous people.
