Following the death of 29-year-old guard Brandon Clarke, the Memphis Grizzlies are in deep sorrow. Even though the specifics of his passing are still unknown, tributes are still flooding in.
The Grizzlies published a film on Friday that included a collection of pictures from Clarke’s life as a tribute to him.

Flowers were placed outside the FedExForum by Memphis supporters on Thursday.
The Grizzlies’ teammates and NBA Commissioner Adam Silver made tribute statements.
Clarke, who is from Vancouver, was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2019 NBA Draft. He was later moved to the Grizzlies. Clarke made a splash as a rising young star in 2020. He was selected to the 2020 NBA All-Rookie First Team. He had an average of 12. 1 points and 5. 9 rebounds per game.
The Grizzlies have made four playoff appearances along the way, including a journey to the Western Conference Semifinals in 2022. He agreed to a $52 million, four-year rookie-scale contract extension in 2022.
After suffering a PCL sprain in his right knee that needed surgery, Clarke was sidelined for a large portion of the 2025–2026 campaign. He just participated in two contests.
Clarke founded the Brandon Clarke Foundation outside the court to advance literacy among young people.
In the meantime, he is being investigated as a possible drug-related matter. In the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Los Angeles, police responded to an emergency call at Clarke’s house on May 11. Drug paraphernalia led to speculation that his death was caused by an overdose, and they discovered him unconscious.
