The Wisconsin football team has kicked off the official visit season with a major acquisition, signing Jai Jones, a 4-star wide receiver and one of the top pass catchers available.
The Wisconsin staff has a history of stuffing the first weekend of formal visits with their primary prospects in order to be among the first to see the players and seal them down before they depart Madison. Jones, a 6’2, 175-pound athlete from Chandler, Arizona, was among those to watch. He was among the 19 tourists, including all 13 current Wisconsin commits.
Hayes Fawcett, Rivals, announced Jones’ commitment to the Badgers on X.
Jai Jones’ Scouting Profile
Jones is a great addition to the Badgers, as is the new wide receivers coach, Ari Confesor. He is the Badgers’ first broad receiver in the 2027 recruiting class, and the group’s fourth 4-star prospect.
According to 247Sports, Jones is the nation’s 32nd-ranked receiver and the 245th overall prospect.
The newest Badger had more than 20 Division 1 offers, and he picked the Badgers over teams like Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Indiana, Oregon, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota, among many others.
According to the 247Sports Team Rankings, the Badgers’ class, with the addition of Jones, is now rated 19th in the country and 9th in the Big Ten.
Jones is the first prospect to sign with the Badgers this weekend, but he might not be the last. Other prospects might pledge to the Badgers, including four-star safety Mekhi Williams, who decommitted from Florida State following his weekend visit to Madison.
