So far, the Wisconsin Badgers women’s basketball team has wreaked havoc in the transfer market.

Their newest addition? Southern Conference (SoCon) Player of the Year Caia Elisaldez has officially joined the team on Thursday.

Elisaldez, a 5’5″ junior guard, has spent the last three seasons with Chattanooga, seeing steady progress year after year. As a freshman in 2023-24, she appeared in 33 games, averaging 18. 2 minutes each game. She averaged 4. 1 points, 1. 5 rebounds, and 1. 5 assists per game during that season.

In his sophomore year, he increased his stats to 14. 1 points, 4. 9 assists, and 2. 7 rebounds while shooting 48. 6% from the floor. Then, as a junior, Elisaldez averaged 17. 0 points, 5. 1 assists, and 3. 1 rebounds each game, with a 49. 6% field goal percentage. That earned her the Southern Conference Player of the Year title, and Elisaldez will join the Badgers for her final year of eligibility.

“Caia is a strong guard with grit, talent, and a deep grasp of the game. She is a superb floor general and facilitator, and she thrives at attacking the rim and getting to the free-throw line,” according to head coach Robin Pingeton.

Elisaldez, a California native, excelled in the WBIT, scoring 33 points in a losing effort in the first round against North Dakota State. She is now a Badger, and she intends to help Pingeton improve in Year 2.
