The 2026 NBA Draft lottery concluded on Sunday afternoon, and it had a few significant nuggets, including numerous teams moving up and down the board, which also saw the Indiana Pacers give the No. 5 selection to the Los Angeles Clippers.
With the draft sequence established, mock drafts are circulating as players decide whether to participate in the 2026 NBA Draft or return to school for another year. One of them is former Wisconsin Badgers guard John Blackwell, who committed to the Duke Blue Devils earlier this offseason but was invited to the NBA Draft Combine.
Blackwell is scheduled to return to Duke for his senior season, however another Badgers standout, guard Nick Boyd, is presently participating at the Combine, hoping to have his name called during the draft next month.
Well, in The Athletic’s post-lottery mock draft, the Washington Wizards picked Boyd as the No. 60 overall selection, making him the oldest player chosen in the mock draft.
On big boards, Boyd is widely regarded as a late second-round or undrafted prospect. He was undrafted in ESPN’s post-lottery mock draft and is rated No. 93 in the class by them.
Boyd will have the opportunity to improve his ranking by excelling in Combine shooting and defensive drills, and he will hope to hear his name called after John Tonje was selected in the second round by the Boston Celtics last year.
