The Atlanta Braves are presently playing the Washington Nationals in a three-game weekend series at Truist Park. The two National League East opponents will compete in a rubber match on Sunday afternoon, although the game will not begin on time.
The Braves won the first game of the series 5-4, but the Nationals retaliated with a 2-0 victory on Saturday afternoon, holding the Braves to only one hit.
Heavy rains passed through the Atlanta region during the sixth inning of the Braves-Nationals game on Sunday.

Update: The Braves are experiencing yet another rain delay… Truist Park is receiving heavy rain.

@Braves (wrote): “The tarp is on the field, and we are presently experiencing a rain delay. Updates will be provided as soon as they are available. “
As of right now, there is no restart date in Atlanta, however this tale will be updated as information becomes available. Atlanta trails the Nationals 1-0.
The tarp had been taken off Truist Park at 6:45 p. m. ET, but the challenge now is to make the field playable, which may be difficult given the amount of water around the first base side of the field.

Braves vs. Nationals Weather Delay: Restart Time Set for 7:35 p. m. EST.
At the time of writing this (7:16 p. m. EST), the Braves-Nationals game is planned to restart in approximately 20 minutes. It will result in a 1. 5-hour delay.

Atlanta Braves Right Now…
With a 36-17 record, the Atlanta Braves have the greatest record in the National League. Washington has a 26-27 record going into Sunday’s rubber match.
Atlanta will be off on Monday for Memorial Day before travelling to Boston for a three-game series against the Red Sox at Fenway Park. The Braves are 6-4 in their past ten games and currently have a 9. 5-game advantage atop the NL East.
