The Atlanta Braves’ deadline for seeing five-time All-Star outfielder Ronald Acuña, Jr. in action was advanced by one entire series.

The club activated Acuna off the 10-day injured list on Monday, in advance of its four-game series in Miami. Due to the pitch at loanDepot Park, manager Walt Weiss’ initial intention was to wait until the Braves host the Nationals starting on Friday.

According to Weiss, the ground is a little harder on soft tissues such as hamstrings, quads, and groins. It is a consideration. It is not the primary component, but it is a piece of the equation when it comes to activating someone.

But he’s doing well. He ran around today and is definitely getting closer. I would most likely listen more frequently on a daily basis at this point.

Acuna wasn’t in the starting lineup, but he is dressed and ready for pinch-hitting.

Acuna’s signing prompted the club to put infielder Kyle Farmer on the 10-day injured list due to a damaged right forearm.

Acuna sustained a damaged left hamstring on May 2 while sprinting for a ground ball in Colorado.

The nine-year veteran got off to a bad start in 2026, batting 7 for 40 (. 175) with one extra-base hit in his first eleven games. However, he had a. 252 batting average and a. 740 OPS before being hurt.

Acuna needs 55 hits to reach 1,000 in his career and 12 home runs to reach the 200 mark. Despite missing significant chunks of four seasons (2021-22, 2024-25) due to tearing his right (2021) and left (2024) ACLs, he has a. 901 career OPS in 851 games (2018-2026).
