This is how you tell the rest of college football that you are serious about this.

Since Lane Kiffin was recruited by LSU, he has made it abundantly evident that he is not in Baton Rouge to make friends and that he will do all possible to stick it to other teams. Mario Cristobal and Miami are learning this fairly quickly.

Kiffin recently pulled off a recruiting coup, flipping 4-star Miami wide receiver commitment Ah’Mari Stevens. This is unexpected for a number of reasons. For starters, Stevens appeared to be set with the Canes, but he made a surprise trip to meet with the SEC team. Furthermore, Stevens was an in-state commitment to Miami, but he is no longer Coral Gables-bound for his collegiate career.

Ah’Mari Stevens, a four-star playmaker, has switched his allegiance from Miami to LSU.

Just before this breaking news broke, 247Sports’ Gaby Urrutia said that Miami and Cristobal had agreed to part ways with Stevens. The timing appears to be coincidental; from our vantage point, it looks like Cristobal discovered that Stevens had made this trip and was furious about it, although this has yet to be verified.

Regardless, Stevens delivered Kiffin the news he wanted, and a signal has certainly been sent to Miami. According to the 247Sports Composite, the 5-11, 160-pounder is a four-star recruit, the No. 42 wide receiver in the nation, and the No. 334 overall prospect in the country for the 2027 class.
