Three-star defensive lineman De’Voun Kendrick has committed to join the Florida Gators’ 2027 recruiting class.
He hails from Tampa, Florida, and it didn’t take long for him to commit to the Gators. On March 24, they gave him a scholarship offer and immediately took charge of his recruitment, bringing him to their spring game for a visit. The 300-pounder, who stands 6-foot-4, has received more than 20 scholarship offers from schools around the nation, including the Texas A&M Aggies and Auburn Tigers.
In the Rivals industry ranking, Kendrick is ranked as the No. 831 overall player and No. 79 defensive lineman. From Florida, he is the 90th-ranked player.
MaxPreps reports that during his junior year at Carrollwood Day High School, he had a successful season, recording 28 tackles, 13. 0 tackles for loss, 2. 5 sacks, and one forced fumble in 12 games. He is the first defensive line commitment for Florida in the cycle.
The 2027 recruiting class, which will be the first of the Jon Sumrall era, now has nine players committed to Florida. According to Rivals, the team is the fourth-best in the SEC and the eighth-best in the nation. Maxwell Hiller, a five-star offensive lineman, leads the class of seven blue-chip prospects.
