Kyle Busch’s lawyer has aggressively refuted claims regarding the late NASCAR legend’s life insurance policy, one week after his sad passing.
Busch, 41, died last Thursday after being taken to the hospital after becoming unresponsive in a race simulation near Charlotte, North Carolina.
It was later discovered that the married father of two had pneumonia, which resulted in sepsis, which caused his blood to clot and disrupt his organs before he went into hemorrhagic shock.
Busch died two months after he and his wife Samantha reached an out-of-court settlement in a lawsuit against Pacific Life Insurance Company, alleging that they were deceived into purchasing life insurance plans. According to the couple, they paid more than $10. 4 million in premiums relying on fraudulent representations and incorrect pledges of guaranteed returns.
Following his death, some social media users circulated wild conspiracy theories that Kyle and Samantha had been advised to cancel their life insurance plans just months before his death, an idea that their lawyer, Robert Rikard, strongly denied.

Kyle Busch’s attorney disputed a “false story” regarding the late NASCAR legend’s life insurance.
‘Some on this platform, the media, and other venues are propagating a deceptive tale about the Busch IUL controversy. It must be stopped, and those who publish erroneous claims must correct them, according to Rikard’s LinkedIn post. Two policies had no value before the litigation and were cancelled.
The rest of the policies were treated with caution. The Busch family hired an impartial insurance expert, a senior executive at a prominent national financial institution, to assess their overall portfolio and recommend a structured move to replacement coverage with a considerable lifetime death benefit. The Busch family did not abandon their coverage. They substituted it with improved coverage.
Rikard went on to say, ‘The claim that they were told by anyone to give up tens of millions in death benefit protection is made up, and individuals who repeat it know it. ‘ Continuing to do so is at your own risk.
‘These are not disagreements about IUL policy design or litigation strategy. These are factually false claims regarding what occurred. ‘
The Busches filed a lawsuit against Pacific Life in October, claiming they were defrauded of millions of dollars before reaching a confidential out-of-court settlement in March.
‘We’re going to demonstrate to the world that this was a terrible and complete fraud,’ Samantha remarked in a video uploaded by the couple on social media in October.
Following Kyle’s death, Rikard stated last week that ‘in March, the Busch family and Pacific Life were able to settle this matter. ‘ Both parties worked cooperatively to achieve a confidential outcome that is mutually agreeable and avoids additional legal proceedings.

‘This loss is incredibly challenging on a personal level. ‘ During the course of this presentation, I got to know Kyle as both a customer and a friend. He was motivated, considerate, trustworthy to those around him, and completely committed to his family.
‘Spending time working with him, discussing life, family, racing, and the future, you quickly discovered that he was much more complex than what people perceived in public. ‘ I’ll miss Rowdy, a moniker he surely earned.
My thoughts are with Samantha, his children, and everyone else who cherished him. His passing is truly heartbreaking, and he was taken far too soon.
