I don’t think you’re going to see the president of a university board of regents who is willing to go out and publicly criticize another institution in the same state about remarks made on a college football schedule. I don’t believe that will be a regular occurrence. But that is precisely what Cody Campbell and the Texas Tech Red Raiders accomplished.

And Texas Tech football fans are ecstatic about it. Texas football fans, on the other hand, do not care for the Red Raiders or Campbell’s swipe at the Longhorns.

To get everyone on the same page. This all began when Steve Sarkisian appeared to criticize the Red Raiders and their upcoming season’s schedule. Joey McGuire and Cody Campbell are reacting to the incident, which has gotten a lot of buzz from college football fans and media.

College football writers comment as the Red Raiders take on the Texas Longhorn.

To be honest, this type of scenario appears to be quite uncommon. College football offseason usually brings drama, but seldom like this. It’s usually simply recruiting-related activities. It is not a university willing to foot the cost of buying out two early-season games to create a matchup in the next season.

I am unable to envision a comparable situation involving school and university administrators. At least not to my recollection. Rivalries and humor are common, but what about this? That’s just special

At this moment, I believe a lot of people would be thrilled to see the Red Raiders and Longhorns clash. I mean, of course, with the exception of Texas football fans. Most of them do not appear to be interested in the concept of the Longhorns and Red Raiders competing each other.

Everyone else, though? This is excellent.

And it’s certainly focusing college football media members on this problem (which may be what the Red Raiders desire rather than the Brendan Sorsby case with the NCAA).

Furthermore, Sean Tuohy Jr. allegedly wants to be involved in all of this. The athletics director for the ULM Warhawks would not be displeased if his university received some funds to avoid paying the Texas Longhorns in the future.
