Jon Scheyer and his Duke basketball staff have not yet extended any offers on the 2027 or 2028 recruiting routes. But one such prospect, versatile 2028 five-star Colton Hiller, looks to be firmly on the Blue Devils’ radar.

Despite being more than a month away from turning 16, the Coatesville Area High School (Pa. ) sophomore forward has already received more than a dozen offers, according to 247Sports. And, as June 15 approaches, the day that university recruiters are permitted to contact prospective high school juniors directly, it appears that Hiller expects to hear from the Duke basketball coaches.

Duke, BYU, Clemson, Villanova, Oregon, and Louisville are among the schools vying for Hiller’s services. Hiller informed League Ready about his expanding list of suitors as he prepared for his next game with the PSA Cardinals 17U as part of Nike EYBL Session I competition in Georgia this weekend.

It is worth noting that Hiller, who is presently rated No. 3 overall and No. 1 in his state on the 247Sports 2028 Composite, met with Scheyer and the Blue Devils when Duke defeated Michigan 68-63 in Washington, D. C. , in late February. Furthermore, the 6-foot-6, 210-pound sought talent has dubbed the blueblood in Durham as his dream school.

Duke Basketball Recruiting Prospect Continues to Improve.

Colton Hiller has averaged 21. 0 points and 5. 0 rebounds in his first two games for the PSA Cardinals (1-2) this spring, shooting 42. 9 percent from the field but only 3-for-11 (27. 3 percent) from beyond the arc while facing primarily emerging high school seniors.

Hiller appears to have grown slightly taller and leaned out since the autumn, according to 247Sports national recruitment expert Eric Bossi, who wrote about Hiller earlier this month, and his influence on the game is unquestionable. He can shoot, pass beautifully, drive to the hoop, and his self-assurance shines through.

Other players respond well to performing with him, and it is clear that he has the respect of both colleagues and competitors.

Now that Scheyer and his staff have secured a strong Duke basketball squad for next season, the Blue Devils are likely to intensify their recruitment efforts in the coming months.
