More than ten returning Georgia Bulldogs football players have changed jersey numbers this offseason. Georgia supporters may have some difficulty distinguishing between the participants in Saturday’s 1 p. m. ET spring game at Sanford Stadium (broadcast on ESPN+ and SEC Network+).
Georgia’s most prominent players with new numbers include running back Chauncey Bowers (now No. 5), edge Quintavius Johnson (No. 3), defensive backs Demello Jones (No. 8) and Rasean Dinkins (No. 14), as well as offensive guard Dontrell Glover (No. 58). All five of these players started at some point during the 2025 season and will be important contributors for Georgia in 2026.
It will take some time to acclimatize to all of Georgia’s new individuals in new positions. Aside from returning players, the Bulldogs recruited 31 newcomers, 28 of them early enrollees. Georgia also acquired nine transfers who are prepared to contribute right away this fall.
Georgia supporters should expect the spring scrimmage to be pass-heavy and rapid. G-Day scrimmage games last about two hours and distribute reps among a large number of players.
