Another guard has declared his return to the Gators. The most recent is Alex Kovatchev, who has re-signed with Florida Victorious.
Kovatchev joins five backcourt players, Boogie Fland, Urban Klavzar, Isaiah Brown, AJ Brown, and Alex Lloyd, all of whom re-signed with UF in the final week of March.
Kovatchev participated in 15 games this season, averaging 3. 3 minutes, 0. 5 points, and 0. 4 rebounds as a substitute. In the first round of the NCAA Tournament, he had a season-high five points against Prairie View A&M.
Kovatchev tallied 198 points in 37 appearances with 16 starts at Sacramento State, averaging 5. 4 points and 3. 8 rebounds per game.
He played 33 games as a rookie, then the first four games of the 2024-25 season for Sacramento State before being injured for the remainder of the season.
Kovatchev competed at The Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence, where he played alongside Alex Condon. They are both from the same town in Perth, Australia.
