Leicester City manager Gary Rowett has urged togetherness as the club battles relegation from the Championship.
Leicester City are presently ranked 23rd in the standings. Leicester City hired Gary Rowett earlier this year on a contract that lasts until the summer, but the Foxes have yet to improve their performance and are currently five points behind with four games remaining.
But, before to the weekend, the seasoned Championship manager addressed the club and urged supporters to unite.
When questioned about fans’ concerns, he responded, “If you know me as a manager, I’m not done until we’re done. You have to fight, have pride, and have something that motivates you to get out of bed on Saturday morning and believe that this is still possible. There are other clubs that have been in considerably worse situations than we are now and have escaped, but we will only do so by remaining united and pulling together for four games.
“Whatever occurs after that, excellent or negative, people may have their own thoughts. ” But I believe we need some unity right now. Look, I know it’s easy for me to say that, but I also know that players have to demonstrate how vital this game is.
“I believe that if the fans see a team out there giving everything they can, which we’ve seen in some of the games, to win the game regardless of the outcome, I believe they will at least support that. So, it’s up to us to accomplish it, and we must.
Leicester City’s next four Championship matches.
West Brom are presently ranked 21st. They have a five-point lead over LCFC and a two-point advantage over Oxford United in 22nd place.
Under Rowett, Leicester City have earned several points, the majority of which have come via draws. They are just not winning enough games to remain in the division, with only one victory in ten games since Rowett took over.
Next up is a crucial away match against Portsmouth, who have clawed their way into 19th place in the Championship table and are now four points clear of the relegation zone. Then it’s a home match against sixth-placed Hull City, followed by another home match against third-placed Millwall.
Leicester City concludes their season with a visit to Blackburn Rovers, who are presently ranked 20th.
Leicester City suffered a double injury setback before their match against Portsmouth.
Rowett will need to draw on all of his skill and expertise for this final stretch. However, he has already suffered a horrible injury ahead of the weekend.
Rowett revealed earlier this week that Caleb Okoli and Ben Nelson will miss the remainder of the season due to injury. Adding to that, Aaron Ramsey is touch and go, and Jordan James has just recovered from injury, thus the situation for LCFC is looking particularly bleak right now.
Leicester City is becoming increasingly probable to be demoted to League One this season, ten years after winning the Premier League title in the most improbable of circumstances.
But, as Rowett points out, teams have survived relegation from much more difficult situations. If the supporters and players can work together and give it their all in these final few weeks, the team will have a good chance of avoiding relegation.
The match against Portsmouth begins at 12:30pm on
