In the course of 48 hours, the Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball squad has acquired its third transfer.
Greg Gard, the head coach, may have had a sluggish start, but when he brought in Trey Autry and Victory Onuetu, the supporters took notice.
The club recently announced that Miami (OH) winger Eian Elmer is their newest acquisition. A 6-foot-7 sharpshooter with a ton of potential on defense is joining the Badgers.
Elmer was a member of the RedHawks’ historic 32-2 season, during which they won their NCAA Tournament First Four matchup. In their 89-79 triumph over SMU, the junior player paced the way with 23 points.
Coming to Madison, the Kentucky native will have only one year left of eligibility after playing his first three seasons in Miami (OH).
As Elmer may well have won out over Onuetu for the last spot in this team’s starting rotation, he formally becomes Gard’s 12th player.
In 2022, Elmer had his best season, averaging career highs of 12. 7 points and 5. 9 rebounds per game. Additionally, he made a career-high 42. 9% of his three-point attempts, which included 168 attempts, 23 more than his previous career high.
