March Madness, which transforms a number of outstanding players from lesser universities into household names, occurs every year. As in previous years, this year saw many surprises in the first round, resulting in the creation of new stars across the nation.

One of those stars was Terrence Hill Jr. , a VCU guard. The 11th-seeded Rams, who overcame a 19-point deficit to defeat No. 6 seed North Carolina in overtime in a first-round surprise, were led by Hill’s 34 points. Hill is now in the transfer portal and seems ready to contribute his scoring skills to a major school the following year.

Currently, Joe Tipton of On3 Sports claims that Hill is not expected to see Kansas and Tennessee in the near future because the two institutions are vying for one of the most exciting guards available.

Tipton wrote, “The 6-foot-3 sophomore is scheduled to travel to Kansas early next week before traveling to Tennessee on Wednesday. ” “With Hill, both schools are gaining positive momentum. “

Hill is a highly ball-dominant player when he’s on the court, but in the victory against North Carolina, he demonstrated that he can score at all three levels and would be a potent addition to any backcourt at the high-major level. In the shocking triumph, Hill made 13 of 23 shots overall and 7 of 10 3-pointers.

Hill averaged 15 points per game for the season, despite only starting twice for a VCU club that had a lot of depth in the backcourt, enough for the Rams to earn an at-large bid out of the A-10.

It’s not shocking that Kansas and Tennessee are both vying to acquire Hill in the portal, given that they are both losing their top backcourt scorers. Tennessee will be missing Ja’Kobi Gillespie the next season, and Kansas will be losing Darryn Peterson to the NBA Draft.

It will be interesting to observe how Hill’s recruitment turns out since he has the ability to make up for some of the scoring shortfall in both of those programs as they aim to build on their own NCAA Tournament performance.
