Crystal Palace are stepping up their search for a new manager ahead of the summer, and TEAMtalk can reveal that Frank Lampard is high on their shortlist, but two other interesting candidates are being considered.

The Eagles are preparing for life after Oliver Glasner, who will leave at the end of the season, and behind-the-scenes efforts to find his replacement are already underway.

According to reports, Palace chairman Steve Parish is overseeing the search, with several well-known individuals being considered.

Former Brentford manager Thomas Frank and former Tottenham striker Robbie Keane, who has excelled during his stint as coach of Hungarian club Ferencvaros, have both been heavily connected with the position and are being evaluated.

However, sources have confirmed to TEAMtalk that Coventry City manager Lampard is a serious contender for the post.

The former Chelsea manager previously came close to taking over at Selhurst Park, and with the role now available once again, Palace are carefully assessing a bid.

His rising prominence after Coventry’s promotion and title-winning Championship season has bolstered his bid.

However, we can reveal that Palace are considering numerous other options, including former Manchester United player Ruben Amorim.

Andoni Iraola, the Bournemouth manager who is expected to leave the Cherries this summer when his contract ends, is another name being considered.

Intermediaries have also suggested former Man United manager Amorim as a possible applicant.

Both are now out of contract, which means Palace may select them without having to pay any compensation.

Coventry, for its part, maintains that Lampard is not for sale and is committed to retain him at the club as they prepare for life in the Premier League.

However, TEAMtalk acknowledges that the issue may not be as simple as it appears.

According to sources, the prospect of returning to London may entice Chelsea icon Lampard, perhaps clearing the way for Palace to make a bid in the following weeks.

For the time being, the club is focused on a successful conclusion to the season, with Palace competing for the Europa Conference League title and hoping to make a late push to European qualification in the Premier League.
