Charles Barkley, a former franchise player for the Phoenix Suns, was roasted by Draymond Green, who played for the Suns’ Pacific division rival, during an ESPN broadcast on Wednesday, May 6.

The Hall of Famer, Barkley, expressed little faith in the Golden State Warriors’ ability to win in the future.

Young people belong in sports, Barkley began. At the age of 37 or 38, nobody wins, but you wish for a successful, lengthy career.

At the age of 38, Steph Curry is the Warriors’ top player and a two-time NBA MVP. At the age of 36, Green has been chosen for the All-Defense team nine times. Jimmy Butler, the Warriors’ five-time All-NBA wing, is another example.

Kenny Smith, a two-time NBA Finals winning point guard, told Barkley, “You’ve said what you’ve said. ” I’m curious about whether he thinks what you’re saying.

“Green,” he stated. In other words, I believe the goal is simply to avoid appearing like you while wearing a Houston Rockets uniform. For instance, we don’t want to—

What does it look like? Smith inquired.

Green gave a sigh.

Did you see it? asked Green in response.

“I’m only asking,” Smith said.

Green said, “I saw it. “

During his four seasons with the Rockets, Barkley averaged 16. 5 points, 12. 2 rebounds, and 1. 1 steals each game. In all of his 14 seasons, Green has never averaged that many points or rebounds each contest.

Compared to the 23. 3 points per game and 1. 6 steals per game that Barkley averaged in the other 12 years of his career, both his scoring and stealing averages for Houston were noticeably lower on Green’s side.

In Houston, Barkley shot 48. 2/25. 3/71. 2 splits. On the other hand, compared to Green’s career averages from those two spots, those field goal and free throw percentages are greater. Barkley’s shooting splits in Houston are significantly worse than the 55/26. 9/73. 8 splits he had before joining the Rockets, which is evident from Green’s point of view.

After losing to the Suns in the eighth-seed play-in tournament match, Green and the Warriors were not eligible for the playoffs this year. They concluded the regular season with a record of 37–45.

Regardless, after leaving Phoenix, Green was not hesitant to express his disappointment with Barkley’s play.
